GetLastError 1073278755

Post by MatthijsJongboer »

When you have installed Enterprise Dynamics on Windows Vista and receive the following error:

Code: Select all

Could not share rendering context. GetLastError() = -1073278755 (CreateModelLayout)
This is a problem related to Graphics of Windows Vista.
We have encountered this problem several times and all errors occurred on machines containing Intel Graphics chipsets.

We have found the following possible workarounds to this problem:

1. Install the latest driver:
2. Install the latest XP driver on Windows Vista.
  • This could result in loosing functionality for Windows Vista such as Aero.

3. Completely uninstall and remove the graphics driver.
  • This results that Windows Vista will use it's default graphics driver that works correctly. Side effect is that, in most cases, the maximum resolution is limited to 1024 x 768.

Further research shows that with ED9, you can also get the following errors:

Code: Select all

1 Time: 0 Atom: (ID=141), OnInit>4DScript:error at "Do":OpenGL error occured while loading sprite: invalid enumerant (LoadLibraryXMLFileNodes)
2 Time: 0 Atom: Enterprise Dynamics (ID=3), OnInit>4DScript:error at "Set":OpenGL error occured while loading sprite: invalid enumerant (LoadLibraryXMLFileNodes)
3 Time: 0 Atom: Enterprise Dynamics (ID=3), OnInit>4DScript:error at "Set":OpenGL error occured while loading sprite: invalid enumerant (LoadLibraryXMLFileNodes)
4 Time: 0 Atom: Enterprise Dynamics (ID=3), OnInit>4DScript:error at "Set":OpenGL error occured while loading sprite: invalid enumerant (LoadLibraryXMLFileNodes)
Solution here was also to update the to the latest available driver.
