I would also like to know if there is a good solution for this. I tried to come up with a solution, but due to the lack of control over the nodes and links between them, I did not manage to prevent the collision at a crossing point.

So it turned out that the problem was that an icon was not saved into the model which the model then attempted to make use of. I have no idea why it simply disappeared from the model though. Ok so the advanced conveyor was actually the solution to all the problems. I think the features of the conveyor could be slightly better documented though
